what spec laptops are you datalogging/tuning s300 with?

hi guys.

i need to buy a laptop to run s300 with a wideband to datalog and tune my a/f ratios. on the spec is reccomends windows xp + 256mb of ram.
now is anyone here running a lower spec system or a diffrent operating system (ie: win 98/2000/me etc) without trouble? or a lower ram like 128mb ram etc?

im just looking at diffrent options, im currently looking on e-bay and laptop shops that sell re-conditioned units but the 128mb ram ones are alot cheaper (like a third of the price)

I'll say just get a laptop with USB ports. But you also don't want a slow laptop. Can get real annoying.
