False Knocks??

Hi,
I have a EP3 Euro CTR (PRA ecu) and JRSC Race kit with 4'' pulley and 440cc RCs, JR header, test pipe, Greddy 2.5'' catback and CAI and kpro. I runned for a while the k20a2-civictyper-jrsc-550cc.kal trimmed for the 440s and had no Knocks. I upgraded to 3.2'' for 9 psi and the knocks begun. 3 to 5 knocks each time at 3600-3700 low cam and 7.5 psi. Fixed by setting the vtec at 3500. Now for the weird part, i tried all the supercharged maps for RSX-S modified for the PRA ecu and the k20a2-civictyper-jrsc-550cc.kal, I added-reduced the fuel by +- 40%, I reduced the ingition to from 22 to even 8 degrees on the High cam 50 map I increased to even 26, I even changed the cam maps trying all possible angles at WOT over boost tables and in ALL cases I get the same Knocks under any conditions (50% TPS and 6.4 psi to WOT 8.4 psi) in any gear from 6500 to 7200rpm. From 7200 to 8400 rpm no knocks. I tried NGK iridium No8, Denso IK24 gapped to anything between 0.6 and 1.1 mm, I used octane boosters, I tested the injectors for malfunction, and still the same Knocks under the same rpm range, not more not less.

Please some one tell me what is going on!

PS I know I need bigger injectors but I have to make sure this is not real knock first, because if it is I'll switch back to 4'' pulley. Forgive me for the large post and my bad english, I'm from Greece...

Sure sounds like false knock. If it was me, my next step would be to go to a dyno and have a tuner / mechanic listen for knock on the dyno with the hood open -- much easier to hear. You might also want to try listening to your knock sensor (since it is a mic) -- there are threads on here that explain how to do that.

Since you tried removing ignition, upping octane, all that jazz, it sure sounds like false knock.

Finaly the knock sensor was triggered by the ratling of the tensionier and the idler pulley that due to the relatively long belt was fully tightended.
Off to the dyno now.
