03+ K24 Accords... need your help
03+ K24 Accords... need your help
I believe there is no plan to develop hondata application for the 03+ accords but I would like to hear the reason behind it...
Sure accord is not a performance oriented car from the factory but it still is one of the highest selling car in the country along with at least thousands, if not tens of thousands, of people in tuning market. As you will see in many accord forums ie accordtuner.com, gen7accord.net, v6performance.net, etc, many are willing to see Hondata putting more attention to their cars.
There are all the bolt on products available for the accord from intake to exhaust but it is lacking any ecu or forced induction aftermarket support which contributes the most in performance. For that reason, some have taken step furtuer and done boosting their cars through custom job, and I myself have done swapping in the K24A2 from TSX. Yet, all of us are still facing the same problem in the ecu tuning. Tuning through VFAC is extremely limited and most piggybacks are at high price especially when you include the self tuning cost on dyno machine, sums up to near or over $2k.
So.. why not Hondata stand up and fill us in? I'm sure any Accord owners are more than willing to help you with the development... I'm looking forward to hear some answers.

I know of the RSX K-Pro "option" for us, which renders our instrument cluster useless. I for one would love to see just a reflash, everyone knows the biggest power gain in the K-series is in the ecu. I know the gains wouldn't be incredible, I'm assuming close to the EP3 reflash gains, maybe a little more due to displacement. However, I know Hondata ALWAYS has alot on their plate and do an excellent job of dealing with it. But the k24a4 is the most common K-series engine here in the states and it is the only K-series motor(besides k24a1) that doesn't have any ecu upgrades from Hondata. I know I still drive an "Accord" and not as many tuners snatch them up initially, therefore the demand isn't as great. For the past year, my Accord has basically been at it's aftermarket limit with just i/h/e for the main power adders. In conclusion, a reflash would renew my love for my car. Hondata, just a little equal love is all we ask for...

since a reflash for the 05 TSX has not been developed, if/when this does happen, will a reflash for the 03+ accord be that much more likely?Hondata wrote:There will be no reprogrammable ECU for the 03+ Accord, but a reflash is theoretically possible. The ECU generation the Accord uses (same as the 05 TSX) is not suitable for a programmable solution for technical reasons. If we do work on a reflash, we will let you know.

Now that the 05 TSX ECU has been done, I hope you will keep accord owners in mind.Hondata wrote:There will be no reprogrammable ECU for the 03+ Accord, but a reflash is theoretically possible.
