solid cel

Post by b16ahybrid »

I have a p-72 running s100b. obd-1
I had it in my last car(obd1 civic coupe) running my b16 turbo, i sold that car and bought a 93 hatch with a b18c.
When I pulled my ecu it was working fine with not codes or cel. I installed the ecu in my new car and the cel is on solid when I turn the ignition key. Even while running the cel stays on. I tried to jump the service plug to pull a code but the light just stays on solid. I have no idea where to start because I cant pull a code.
I was told that it means my ecu was bad, but I doubt that because it was fine when I removed it from my last car.
Any idea's? advice?Thanks

Look at the ECU, even though it was working before. Sometimes physically removing / replacing the ECU causes a solder joint to go cold.

Ok, I will take a look at that.
So the solid light usually means a malfunction in the ecu such as a loose connection or broken solder?
Thanks
