K-Pro and actual Knock

When is a Knock actually a knock? When data logging what number should the display be at to show an actual knock, for example if the knock display shows a knock count of 1.01 is that a knock? I have set up knock graph but Im still unsure of what determines a knock.
Also the odd time the engine light flashes to let me know of knocking it is inconsistent and rare and happens under accelerating. Is it much to worry about or can it be down to engine noise more than an actual knock.

I do not work for hondata
Under ideal conditions, you would have no knock, but a little knock sneaking from time to time in in the midrange when going from cruise to acceleration under high load is normal. You should try and tune it out if possible. You should stop pushing the motor if it knocks more than once or twice (ie, if the CEL keeps flashing/flickering and you hear the engine keep knocking).
The number you are talking about is the knock sensor voltage level. When it goes above the knock sensor threshold, a knock will be recorded. Sometimes you will not see this in the datalog. In general, you don't want to watch the knock sensor voltage, you want to monitor the K Count number. It's in the sensors window near the bottom. My datalog graph templates have K Count in them and as knock is detected, the k count line will raise, and when knocking stops, the line will flatline where it raised to. The knock count is reset every time the engine / ecu is reset (ignition off).
