D16z6 8psi rc440's and im detonating ? anybody with maps ?

Post by Tommy »

Hi, i have a D16z6 with rc440's and shes on 8psi...

I have Hondata 3b

I adjusted the Fuel map for the 8psi and rc440's, but im guessing that i may have not adjusted it correctly because my engine is constantly detonating :?: , im breaking the cermics off my spark plugs too and im afraid of blowing my engine up...

would anybody have any advise ?

would anybody have a fuel map close to my set up that i could compair mine with ?

is there a database of fuel maps i can choose from anywhere ?

should i post up my map and one of you guys could take a look at it and see if you see anything majorly wrong ?

any info would be great...

Thank-you

here are two thoughts i have on curing this, what do you guys think :

1. up the fuel pressure a couple notches.

2. up the #'s on the fuel map a tad till the detonation goes away ?

or is it a bit more complicated then this ?

I put 94 octain in her today and she only seems to detonate in 4th and 5th gear slightly now, would that give any of you guys a hint as to what is going wrong here ?

Thanx again

Get it tuned. YOu spent a lot already. Next time you wouldn't be breaking ceramics.

Tommy, If you are not a professional tuner, then you should not even be attempting to tune this car yourelf. all you'll end up doing is melting it down. Take it to a good shop and pay to have it properly dyno tuned.

it makes a BIG difference.

we took it to the dyno and sure enough tommy was detonating like mad across the board. it was too advanced, so i pulled a degree of timing out across teh entire board and it seems much better... still could use ALOT of work on his a/f curve.. but thats this summer when money is flowing.. :)
