I have been using the s200 with boost option for quite sometime. After spending lots of money on rebuilding motors, I decided to go NA. I installed my s200 and P28 with new base map and the motor started right up.
Then the problems started!! My check engine light started randomly coming on when I would start the car. There were no CEL codes and the Hondata had a solid red light. Then I tapped on the gas to find that my rev limiter was at 2000.
I proceed to plug in the button and reset hondata. Car would run great for 2-5 times before hondata would once again reset. PLEASE HELP, it is greatly appreciated!
Hondata won't hold settings!!!! Please help.
UPDATE-the CEL comes on as the ignition is turned on. If I wait about 5 seconds, the CEL turns off and I start the car and all is well. If I start the car before the CEL turns off, then my rev limiter is set to 2000 and the CEL remains on.
Does this have to do with J 12? If so, why would this happen now as it previously worked fine when I had a turbo motor. I now have an NA motor is the only difference.

THis sounds like more of a problem with the wiring in the car since there has been some major changes under the hood. IT is also posible that you have damaged hte ecu pulling the chip out to be reburned. I would suggest trying a different ecu or try your ecu in a different car..this will help you narrow down the source of the problem.
