H22 P72 QUESTION

Post by Leo San Juan »

Hi I will be installing a P72 box to my turbocharged H22 with oversized pistons low compression pistons, resleeved block and a port a polished head. I was just wondering if the difference in the activation point of the Intake Air Bypass valve of the B18 and H22 will affect performance or if this can also be re programmed. thank you very much

With the new Hondata S200B option, you can change when the IAB will open. With any change in your system, you are sure to find out that the response will vary for different applications.

Also, you mentioned rebuilding an H22 and overboring. Be careful with this engines as it has a special cylinder walls. There have been reports of piston rings failing due to this design. I suggest that you try an search more about your engine.

Hope this helps.

Yes, I've read that due to the H series closed deck design, people think it's superior to the B series and that boring is ok, but the special cylinder walls make it a bad idea to bore.
