Water / Methenol injection question

I am considering running water/meth on my supercharged rsx. I realize setup wise you want to have kpro control the system with a nitrious control panel to remove fuel and add ignition.

My question is what happens when for some reason you stop spraying but kpro thinks it' still spraying -- ie, you've pulled out fuel and added ignition. I imagine it would start to knock fairly instantly and potentially lean cut instantly too.

I guess what I'm trying to figure out is if you run around with lean protection on, will the lack of meth from say an injection malfunction trigger the lean protection before damage is done to the engine under full boost?

Some of the better water injector kits have a display which monitors the output to let you know if there is a problem. Otherwise if you use only distilled water and monitor the level regularly, there shouldn't be a problem. My water/methanol injection used a 2.5 gallon go kart tank, and it would only use a gallon per month or so.

Hrmm... so what about when you spray methenol and water and it runs out but kpro still has timing added and fuel pulled? Do you think that lean cut would save things before it potentially started seeing pre-ignition and detonation or be damaged from a lean condition?

i, too, have worried about this. what if my pump goes bad :( granted, i can smell the meth.. but .. "what if".

I have a low level sensor in my water tank, and I guess you could use a pressure sensor with indicator light to make sure the pump is working. The more advanced aquamist senses if the pump is broken based on pump current draw. However, I can't think of any way to guard against the nozzle clogging. Use distilled water, keep the tank clean and use the inline filter.

Well my lean protection went off the other day when it pulled fuel to fast after starting spray ... so at least mine kills me it seems ;). I increased the ramp time to 750ms from 200 and it hasn't happened again.

not to jack your thread but those are fairly weak numbers with the wminj. im at 300whp at 10psi and with the WMI and tuning the cam angles i am looking to get atleast another 50-60hp.

If you're at 300whp at 10psi, it sounds like you're on an intercooled turbo steup, not an uncooled root's blower with an N/A race header. There is quite a big difference between uncooled roots supercharger and intercooled turbo. 300whp at 10psi is fairly common in turbo land, however, it's much harder to get to in roots K series land. We are stuck with N/A race headers and no inter/after cooling at the moment. That's the price you pay for instant boost.

EDIT: I saw you are running a greddy setup. You are being a bit optimistic on gains from a cam angle tune on the greddy system in my opinion. I've never seen a greddy with 350 - 360whp on 10psi. 300whp is pretty good already for that setup.
