JDM ECU

I drive JDM DC5 Type R, I recently had a K-Pro installed and professionally rolled and mapped only to find out a few days later the ECU came from a UK spec Civic type R so Im getting my old ECU back with a K-pro installed. My question is will I have to get the car completely remapped or can I copy the settings from my current ECU to my new ECU I know the band sensor is different etc but would there be much else involved?

Rolled and mapped? So the car has been crushed and turned into a rug? At the very least the car needs to go back on a dyno to check fuel at WOT.

 Rolling Road and correctly mapped I should have said. Im putting he car the rolling road in the morning just needed to make sure the maps would work.
Thanks for the reply.

Can anybody tell me which base map I should use with my JDM Spec Civic Type R? Coz the K-PRO doesn't carry any caliberations specific to my car. Somebody told me that I could use an ITR map..??

If you are using a PRD ecu, then yes the ITR calibration would be a good starting point.

yeah ITR map sounds good, but what about the cams?? I mean Ive got stock CTR cams, not the ITR ones (thus the difference of 5ps in stock trim). What do I do about that??

The cams are the same, the calibrations are there as a starting point for tuning.

Now that I have my JDM ECU back in my Car can I use the Maps from the Euro Civic ECU that the car was originally mapped on? I was told they could be converted without any further tuning, is this possible as I have paid quite a bit of money for the extra maps and I hope they are not worthless.

It is not recommended to try using a PRA calibration on a PRC or PRD. You can try copying the fuel, ignition and cam timing tables, but again, this is not recommended.

Thanks,
Well the Lad that tuned the car has kindly offerd to remap the ECU again for High Octane fuel, so I will have the extra maps in the New Year :D

KPRO functions

a) What is a good starting point MAP to use for a stock JDM DC-5 Integra type R ? KPRO ECU is a PRB US RSX Type S. It has a A001 suffix. What does the A stands for ? (auto?)

I tried K20a2-rsx-stock.kal
K20a2-stock-tuned.kal
K20a2-310cc-itrcams-jrhdr-c...

There seems to be a strange noise when I try to accelerate. Sounds like valve tappet .krkrh..krkrh.... not very sure. The car is almost brand new 6 months old. engine stock no mods for now. When I use the stock PRC the noise is not there.

b) When I use no speed sensor - provide constant speed signal is MISC tab. I cannot engage reverse gear. Does that sounds strange ?
I am trying to remove the JDM 180 kph speed cut.
In the S200 there is a function to change the speed limit and also disengage air/con clutch base on rpm function. Do not see it in KPRO.
How do I implement two mentioned functions in KPRO ?

A stands for America. Hard to give feedback on a noise like that. You should be able to use the calibration for ITR cams as a starting point.

Everything seems to be working.
The noise is knocking. Turn on the MIL light and datalog to confirm, shows knock counts etc. These calibrations:
K20a2-rsx-stock.kal
K20a2-stock-tuned.kal
K20a2-310cc-itrcams-jrhdr-c...

I tried all above causes knocking. It starts approx @ 2300 rpm and throttle approx. 20%
Is it because the compression ratio is higher for the JDM Type R DC-5 vs the US RSX Type S and also the firing angles has been advanced. With having to go to the dyno. What can be done ?
I tried to retard the low cam table globally by about 2 degrees, it still knocks and the engine temperature start to rise apprx 88 deg C to about 95+ if I stay idle for 5 mins. RPM has been raise from 750 to 900 (stock was about 900 rpm).
Any suggestions ?
I thought there is a knock retard.
In the ignition table there a drop down menu - 0 deg, 10 deg, 20 deg etc
Is that for advance 0, 10, 20 deg to the entire table ? Looks like.

Many thanks in advance

There is no knock retard. Instead it allows you to see when there is knock, and you have to reduce the timing where it is knocking.
