I'm still experiencing speedometer and cruise control issues. I happened to notice a fluctuation in my speed in the upper 70mphs while driving but wasn't sure of what I saw. Today I actually saw the fluctuation. I was going about 67-68mph and the speedo dropped to below 60 and came back up again.
Also, having the cruise on at about 80mph (with 10% correction on the countershaft), the cruise surged once and turned itself off further down the road. I have since removd the correction factor.

yeah I experienced the same thing since switching to ver 11
on ver 7 never had a problem with the cruse control
and the speedometer only jumped 2-3 up when you pressed in the clutch once over 80 mph and gunning it never noticed it under normal driving

Hondata, do you guys have any input on this? I've tried running correction on the speedo, but its not accurate at all. It only seems to be accurate if I'm above certain RPMs.
The best I can tell is this:
- Normal cruising, speedo is mostly accurate. We've done the math and while cruising in 6th at 80mph, it actually reads 80mph.
- Hard acceleration is where the speedo is least accurate, so maybe the correction could work only at certain Kpa or cam angles?
I'm not sure what top MPHs are on an 05, but I seem to remember 02-04 top speeds for each gear as follows (stock redline):
1st: 45 mph
2nd: 62 mph
3rd: 86 mph
4th: ??
5th: ??
When I bring 3rd to around 8500+ RPM, its barely at 80mph and I seem to remember the top of 4th reaching alot higher than 100mph.

I'm reviving this thread. My speedo is not consistant at all. I performed some full CAM tuning this week and I had one run in 50? LOW CAM and the speedo didn't move until I hit almost 60mph.
Today I did a full datalog and the speedo blipped -5mph twice.
I've reviewed both logs and I don't see anywhere in them that indicates the speedo failure. VSS shows a constant speed.
Let me know if you want my logs. I'd like to have this resolved.

CAM50_LOW_3.kdl is a CAM tuning run at full WOT. It happened either during the 1st run or the 3rd run and I suspect it was the 3rd. This is the run that the speedo didn't react until I hit almost 60mph and then it jumped up to speed.
FullRun_12222005.kdl is a daily driven log file on my commute into work this morning. Sometime before 7:18a I notice the two occurrances of incosistent speed representation. Again, I don't see it in the VSS, so I have no idea the precise timing of the incident (actual time logs would be helpful in the datalogs). The speed fluctuation occurred shortly after I entered the highway. (Actually this file is too big. If I could attach a zip or email my datalogs to someone I will. Thanks.)

That datalog was made with 1.2.1.1 (v11). I downloaded v12 today and will be making additional datalogs.Hondata wrote:OK, so the ECU is reading the VSS correctly but the speedo is not working. That narrows it down to either the software or the VSS output circuit.
What software version was the datalog made with? We made a change in V1.2.1.0 for the VSS output.
If it IS a software bug, it would make more sense as I have yet to see any logs/instances of the blip in a datalog. I was rather disappointed this morning when I couldn't find when it happened today. The instances I experienced were back-to-back.Hondata wrote:OK, so the ECU is reading the VSS correctly but the speedo is not working. Here's another log. Today I noticed a 5mph drop from 40mph. It was very fast but it again did not show up in the datalog. This time I'm able to attach a much smaller log to help pinpoint the issue.
Attached you will find a section of normal city driving. The incident occurs somewhere between the beginning and 35 seconds. I know its not a very good range, but its hard to pinpoint when you're by yourself.
Please let me know if you need any other info. This log was taken from v12.

Still would like to hear a reply on this. Over the weekend, I was using my cruise control, set to 85. The throttle wouldn't make up its mind and even caused such a large surge that it canceled cruise all together.
I have some datalogs from street tuning that I performed that had various problems. On one log, I recorded an incident in which the speedometer DID NOT move until I hit almost 60mph. I have a few other logs in which there is an obvious dip as well.
I will post the logs as soon as I am able (don't have laptop with me). Thanks.
