04 Type S Greddy turbo, erratic idle, dtc's/info inside

Post by SinistiR »

I am working on a 04 Type S with a Greddy turbo kit and intercooler upgrade. The car ran fine for about 3 months but then develped some issues . I dont really know the progression of the issues since it is not my car, but here's what is going on. The idle is very erratic, going from 1100-1500, and there is a code P0505 stored for an idle malfunction. The car also has developed some battery issues. One had exploded or was boiled over since the charge piping under the battery was acid stained. The battery that is in there now is a sealed type but someone has opened the caps. Kpro is reporting battery voltae of 14.2-14.3@ idle, and amps are around 12-14. When the car left my shop, it had a greddy turbo timer instaled, oil pressure and boost gauges. After the car left, a narrow band air fuel gauge was tapped into the stock sensor, and an hks grounding kit was installed, but the clamp for the factory ground was loose.

If anyone has any input or suggestions, please let me know.

Follow the helms manual for the codes, and fix the other known problems.

Did you put the factory ground back? Also check the spark plugs because the Greddy kit sometimes includes non-resistor plugs. Check the ground kit to make sure that all the other factory grounds have good contact.
