K-pro installed today with a few problems.

Just got the K-pro installed today :D so please forgive my lack of knowledge but I work in IT so I should catch onto the software quite quick :D All work was done by a tuner who did a fantastic job, the car goes like a rocket, it?s like driving a different car. Had a long drive home and found a quite a few problems
What I would like to know for now is how do I upload the current K-pro settings to my own laptop? So I can start logging the problems, The settings are not locked. I have seen the option under ?Online? but I don?t want to stat messing around until I know what Im doing. Would I have to get the map from the Tuner?

The problems Im having are
1. The engine check light is now always on because of the 02 sensor, with the OBDll enabled or disabled. The issue only shows up with a Hondata ECU and goes away with a standard ecu. Im running with a Toda manifold

2. The Car Boggs down quite bad at low revs in 1st 2nd and a bit in 3rd hard one to explain, when I drive off a slow speed and then speed up a bit the reaction time seems
to be off. I also get a small sputter from the exhaust.

3. The rev counter is set to 900RPM idle but when it?s at idle it can fall back as far as 200RPM for a second then back up again to 900RPM, (or even cut out)
It happens most when I start the car up or if left sitting at idle and the fan comes on etc.

As of yet I have no more information until I set-up the laptop but if anyone has any idea?s or what I should be looking for that would be most appreciated

Thanks

Get the calibration file from your tuner if possible. Otherwise download the calibration from the ECU and save to your laptop.

1. What vehicle and what ECU? It sounds like a US calibration or US/JDM ECU in a UK vehicle. Post the exact error code from KManager and the ECU type (PRA, PRB, PRC etc).

2. Tuning. Post the calibration and a datalog if possible.

3. The idle valve duty cycle adjustment needs to be increased.

#2 and #3 are probably caused by #1, so sort that out first.

BTW, what is the Toda manifold? The exhaust header or the ITBs?

Thanks for getting back to me is quick :)

It?s a JDM DC5 Type R with a K20A
The tuner told me the ECU came from a JDM Civic K20A, he kept my ECU. After that I?m not sure of the ECU model. I uploaded the Cal from the ECU, the tuner will Email me the Cals during the week. I got it set-up for two octane settings, I?m currently running a 95 octane setting
I have set the idle valve duty cycle adjustment up a notch and it seems to have helped with the idle issue, but the bogging down is still the same

The fault code:
"1-1 P0132 02 Sensor Voltage High"
I get the error with the OBD11 enabled or disabled.
I have got a toda exhaust header with cat bypass with a JS?Racing catback.
I will send you on the Cal and Datalog, I seem to having a problem uploading them.

I cant upload the Cal or datalog, its saying the server is full, i could Email them to you if you like.

OK, increased the attachment limit so that you can upload.

Can you check the ECU part number (it will start with 37820)? Also connect a laptop, switch on the ignition, select 'Online' then 'information' (or click on the blue i icon) and tell us what the ECU type is listed as (this is just above the software version in the dialog box).

The Serial number 01432
ECU: PRA-Euro Civic Type R

Im also getting another error message: 1-1 P0131 02 Volage low.

Not sure how much you can get from the datalogger it kept dissconnecting on me, its problaby the Laptop as its quite old.

Can you check the ECU part number? It should be 37820-PRA, 37820-PRB, 37820-PRC, 37820-PRD. 37820-PNF or 37820-PND

The reason is that you list your vehicle as a JDM DC5 type R, yet the calibration type (listed in the 'information' box) is for a Euro Civic Type R. This will cause an error as the PRA calibration expects a narrow band o2 sensor yet the JDM DC5 has a wide band sensor. Has the o2 sensor in the vehicle and/or wiring been changed?

Ok I will have a look, I wont be able get it done until tomorrow. But yes my ECU was taken out and an ECU from JDM civic was installed as it was in stock with a new K-pro. So from what your saying I will need to get it replaced with my old ECU with a Kpro installed.
Will that mean a complete retune or will my current maps work when I replace the ECU? Also would that be the cause of the bogging down issues.

You can use a PRB, PRC or PRD ECU. A JDM CTR should have a PRD ECU. There might be a little retuning involved switching from the PRA calibration to the PRD (which uses a PRB calibration), but not much.

The EUC number is 37820 PRA.
Would you recommend that I use my old ECU with K-Pro? or indeed would this be the reason for the bogging down of the car? if it is the reason I wont change anything until I replace the ECU.

Thanks again you have been a great help :D

You cannot use the PRA ECU with the wideband o2 sensor. Unplug the o2 sensor to reduce the chance of damage as the wideband o2 sensor current cells are fairly sensitve. Swap ECUs to a PRB, PRC or PRD.

O Crap
Will I be safe to drive for a week or so until I get a new ECU??

Thanks for letting me know this
