JDM K20A octane settings?

Post by macer »

Hi
Im getting the K-Pro installed in a few weeks, Im just wondering if there is anything that I should be asking the tuner, what him to make sure he does the best job he can, Also Im driving a JDM Type R K20A which was designed to run on 100RON but I can only get my hands on 95RON for daily driving, the tuner is going to Map the Car run on 95RON which is good but when I want to Drag/track the Car and want to use a higher octane for the day how easy is to reset the ECU to run on the Higher Octane? Or will I need to get the tuner to make me up two maps one for high octane and one for the everyday driving lower octane.

Thanks

You need 2 maps, one pump and one for racing. I do that, and leave the imoibilizer disabled on the race gas map so the blinking key thing reminds me, "NO PUMP GAS"

Dude, that's an awesome idea... using the imobilizer to denote a different configuration.

Thanks,

I dont think the JDM type R has an imoibilizer, Im not 100% sure maybe somone can confirm that. Have my first track day in the DC5 at the end of the month, cant wait.

Problem is the Tuner is going to map the car for 95RON so i will need to figure the settings for the higher octane myself, I dont think I will get that done on time so I think I just might run the car on 95RON on the Track day.
