New to the ecu tuning world,need help.

ok i've read and read about the programs and all of that on Hondata.ok i was wondering what all do i need for my set-up.im going to be running a 88-91 honda civic dx hatchback.converting it into multi point injection,and plan on running either a sohc jdm non vtec d15b naturally aspirated(no nitrous)was wondering what all would i need if i planed to tune it myself w/my laptop ? what programs,ecu, etc..etc... and i have the same question if i planned to do the same for a N/A b16a1.
and i was told to use a p28(obd 1) ecu and then use the s200 is this a good idea ?help me if i havn't already confused everyone.thanks.please hlep haahaha
