Please Help! 96 civic with a turbo kit

Post by 96turbotrouble »

Hello. I am new to this forum and am in need of some help. I have a friend who has a 96 Civic D16 motor (built internals) with a turbonetics turbo kit on the car. The car was a basket case and the guys that originally did the work, didn't do it right. They have since dropped off the face of the earth. The head has been replaced and the car will run, but not well. Using the info off the Hondata site, I found that the injector impedance was 25-35 ohms (disconnecting the injector plug and measuring across the pins at the injectors). I replaced the injectors with ones from a Mitsubishi/Talon (9 ohms). I know the injectors are too big for the car (440cc) and that it runs really rich, which is why I would like to get the s200b Hondata set-up. I am wondering if anyone here can tell me if the ECU was damaged by the original install of 25-35ohm injectors? Is there a way I can check it? If I get the s200b hondata unit, does it come with a base map for the modifications I have on the car? Also, what kind of work needs to be done to the ECU to get it to link with the s200b? (ie. socketting, wiring, etc) Sorry for all the questions and thanks for the time and space. If anyone can point me in the right direction to get my friend back on the road, I would really appreciate it.

Okay, a little more detail...The ECU that is in the car is currently a P2P. That means the ECU must be swapped out for a 92-95 Civic Si/EX OBDI ECU, so I guess it doesn't matter if the ECU was harmed by the high impedance injectors anyway. If anyone has any helpful info, please post. Thanks.
