Looking at the charts, I need a P72 ecu to use Hondata on my 2001 prelude.

The notes say that I "may" need an obd1 distributor.... is there any more specific info on this?

And what should be the baseline... a stock I GSR? Or is that irrelevant?

For some reason...most likely faulty wiring in the car, some OBD2 PReludes give errors that can only be fixed by using an OBD1 distributor. Try your OBD2 distributor first and if it works, you are done.
