92 vx w/ gsr--cold start probs--anyone experience this??

Post by just-g-r6 »

92 vx with a GSR (b18c i believe- how can i know for sure??) its got a DX ecu modded (p06 i believe-- how can i know for sure??)

OK problem is that when the engine is cold the car is hard to start. You have to hold down the gas pedel (partially @ 2500rpm or so) once started until engine is warm. otherwise it wont idle properly. once warm the car runs and idles great.

someone told me that with the gsr swap into the vx that the mass airflow sensor has to be wired directly into the ecu but that doesnt help me very much. not sure weather to believe or not

Any help at all would be great!!

There should be no mass air sensor wired as no such device can be controlled by that ecu.

Your problem could be because you have a 3 wire idle control valve or simply because the VX has a very different wiring harness and perhaps you should change the harness to that of an EX. These are question best asked a shop that is familiar with engine swaps.
