EUro Accord k20a3

Post by CivicVTi »

THe engine must be the same with US Civic Si. I know it uses a narrowband sensor. I am installing a K-Pro in the stock ECU of the accord. My question is: is there a limitation to cam angle like in the TSX? (25 degrees?).

Is there a physical limitation? Pull the valve cover off and look at the slot on the intake VTC. Some VTCs (like the TSX) have 12.5 printed on them (12.5 cam degrees = 25 crank degrees). Otherwise compare your VTC with other VTCs (a photo may work) to see if you have a 25 or 50 degree VTC. Also the part number will give you a clue (RBB = 25 degree, PRA = 50 degrees).

Thanks! What happens if I install a tune with 40 deg at some points and there is a physical limitation at 25? DO I damage the VTC mechanism?

You will not damage the VTC by over advancing but it may generate an error code eventually.
