Vtec oil pressure switch

If you disable the oil pressure switch does Vtec still work?? Also will having a mechanical oil pressure guage effect Vtec and the pressure switch reading?? I keep throwing the code P1259 - I even replaced the switch and confirmed oil pressure.

If you have a VTEC Pressure sensor, then it should not be dissabled. If you have the sensor and get the code, you must follow the steps in the Helms manual to trouble shoot it.

I did follow all instructions on how to trouble shoot the switch. My question was if you had a mechanical oil pressure gauge, if it would take the pressure away from the actual vtec switch and get the code. Im getting my electrical oil gauge back on saturday so I'll see if it fixes the problem.
