Why the pre-set RPM stepping on provided maps

To Hondata,

Are there reasons for the different incremental steeping in the RPM at different range eg. by 250rpm, 500rpm or even 400rpm.

Why not even up the stepping say, by 250rpm throughout the rpm range?

We use the Honda rpm index. Also there are points when tuning where you need finer resolution than others.
