s200 vs stage 2-4 ecu socketing p28 Is there a difference?

I'm purchasing a p28 socketed for use with a stage 2 system and wondering if any modifications will need to be made for it to be socketed for my s200 or are they the same?

I remember the old s200 tech article specifying the diffences and how the s200 was more reliable etc... and I could have sworn that one of them was how the (e(e)p)rom was socketted to the ecu...

Thanks for the help, if it turns out to be the same I've just found a good deal for myself. Otherwise it'll be a waste to have to get it resocketted again.

I upgraded from a stage 4 to an s200 system with my P28 and did not have to change any wiring inside the ECU, just had to swap the interface box and burn a new s200 EPROM. The ECU modifications are the same for stages 2, 3, and 4, so it's safe to say that you should be fine.

Cool thanks, I'm curious now what they meant by improved reliability with the S200 then. Other than software...

FYI - I am now $150 poorer thanks to you!
