Kseries ecu factory knock retard

Does the factory ecu retard ignition on knock... I have heard yes and no. I'm curious. I realize that kpro does not, but I am un clear on if the ecu did originally.

No. The stock ECU has a 'programmed retard' where it shows a knock retard which is not as a result of the knock sensor.
