Accord turbo gagging between 3000 and 4000 rpm?

I built a Honda Accord IS -96 with obd1 ecu as illustrated in link below:

We used haltech F9 to provide fuel for boost, and used a reversed one-way valve in t-piece for stock MAP-sensor hose to prevent it to sense the boost.

A couple of probs:

-a engine fail signal light lids immetiately after starting

-Otherwise works fine but gags under hard acceleration between 3000 and 4000 rpm's

What happens when the engine gags? I doesn't detonate, or run lean/rich... How can I change the ignition advance in these revs?

At the present the owner runs on 1bar boost, appr. 250whp.
