Hello All. Just today i discovered the hondata site and all I can say is WOW! You guys have completely re-engineered the honda ecu's! So this gave me a thought, maby your expertise can help out another group of people, the owners of Honda Aquatrax watercraft.

If you are not familiar with the Aquatrax line, here is their site:

The turbo model is a 1235cc inline four-cyninder with an intercooler and 8.5:1 compression. It's got dual overhead cams, four valves per cylinder, and full multi-point efi. The whole setup looks alot like a car engine, including the wiring harness and ecu. There are also some diagnostic connectors that no one has quite figured out yet.

From people's experiments, stock boost is 13psi and the ecu goes into fault mode at 15psi. Mostly people have focused their attention on the two 3 bar presure sensors (map and boost) when trying to get more boost into the system, but still the stock ecu is holding us back. Here is a forum where people have been trying to get around the boost limiter in various ways:

Man, this is getting long winded..

Okay, so here's my question. Our group has had next to zero luck in geting more power out of our engines that are obviously bieng restricted by the stock programing (they hold 60mph with one or three people on them, with or against the wind and currents) so our next option is to tweak our ecu. Does anyone think that it would be possible to adapt one of your offerings into our ecu, or if that's not possible would you be interested in making a mod for this ski? A few of our forum members would be willing to work with anyone who could help in unleashing this engine.

Thanks.

Hi,
I must say that I am rather interested in your pwc project. I dont believe a HONDATA product will fit your pwc needs, as HONDATA products are made to fit inside car ecu's (p30,p28,pr3,etc). For your application, I feel that a true standalone engine management system is in order.
At the present time, to my knowledge no one makes a marine standalone ems, so an automotive conversion is in order. For your needs, an AEM engine management system or a Haltech e6k engine management system would work great. Either system will power engine up to 10 cylinders. The haltech also has the option of a distributorless coil on plug crank trigger ignition system.
With either system, some mods would be nesscesary. Mainly, you would need to waterproof the system. For the ecu, you could seal the case w/ silicone. For the harness, you would need to upgrade to marine grade connectors.

Good Luck
