Primary 02 Sensor durability

Post by jsimon9633 »

My 02 sensor had recently gone bad about 2 months ago and now AGAIN it has gone bad....is there any plan to allow us to use a different Wideband to tune with? I mean the price of the stock wideband is ridiculously high and it is limited in function and apparently durability.

I didnt even run race gas.

Anything non standard in the wiring of the car? Does the battery go flat quickly?

Is the o2 still on the top half of the exhaust pipe (otherwise water condensation damages the o2 sensor).

How close is the o2 to the turbo? It could be that the o2 is overheating and needs to be relocated further downstream, or that your EGTs are higher than normal.

I'm not sure if my primary O2 is bad or not, but when the car is idling the AF reads 38:1 in closed loop and 28:1 in open loop. Even at WOT it doesn't go lower than 20:1. I know it should be closer to 14:1. I got my car tuned properly with the correct AF ratio, but the AF reading in K-Manager is always off the chart. Is there a way to test the O2 to see if it's working properly?
