datalogging-connection issue

Post by underground »

Hey guys,

When I hook up my laptop to the ecu I'm getting this as a code:

Code: 39-1
DTC : P0600
Description : Serial Communication Link Malfunction

Now when I'm datalogging I'm getting a recording for IAT and ECT, however none of the other functions are logging. The RPM/Ignintion etc are all constant at zero from start to finish of the logging process. A friend of mine had a similar issue with his s200 with the hondalogger and he changed the cable he was using and after that everything worked fine. So I am curious as to if there is a name brand cable that I should be using or should anyone I choose work?

Please give some more details about the car/engine/ecu. Normally P0600 is only generated for engine swaps.

1. Uninstall KManager.
2. Download KManager from our website, and re-install.
3. Pick a starting calibration, and upload to the ECU. You may need to check the immobilizer setting if your ECU doesn't match the vehicle.
4. Datalog with the engine off, and check that works.
5. Start the engine and datalog, to check that it still works.

Hey, thanks but I think I should have been a little more clear. I have a 96 with a turbo' k24a4. The ecu comes out of the 2004 accord the engine came with. I bought this car from a friend who works out of Ontario and the car is already tuned. Is there any way to "download" the calibration already on the ecu so I don't have to start from square one, and yes this P0600 would be because of the swap. I don't understand why I still can't datalog anything. The car runs well under boost, and all the guages and lights - except for the speedo/odo do work. So everthing is working well mechanically and such. However this problem still eludes me. If it would be better to contact you guys to try and figure this out please let me know.

Thanks

It sound like you hav en older calibration you are trying to use with a newer version of K- Manager. Try opening the calibration and saving it then closing the program and repoening it and then loading the saved calibration and reuploading it to the ecu.

You don't need to download anything. Just open the calibration that you want to use in your car. Then save the file using the newest version of our software to your hard drive. Close the software and reopen it and load the newly saved calibration. Now uplaod this calibration to the ecu.
