How can I street tune armed with these components?

Hi,

first of all, I would like to ask about the hondata mailing list. I was reading in this forum about a mailling list for those who own a stage 4. How do I get on this mailling list, and what must I do?

Second.. I have a pocket programmer, hondalogger, the romeditor, and stage 4b and a p28 ecu. I have an Amtel ROM chip with the base B16 map. Howver, I believe that the base b16 wasn't meant for 450 CC DSM injectors, so my idle is really crappy, so is my rev.

How do I tune my car at least for idle? I am somewhat confused as to how tuners are able to tune people's car with a laptop? Does the laptop assume the responsibilities of the ECU until a satisfactory map has been dialed on the computer, then burned on to the chip?


Do I have to purchase a RomEmulator of some kind? Can the laptop be the rom chip temporarily?

I just need to be enlightened, because i should be receiving my wideband o2 sensor next year (pun) and will be street tuning my car.

Never mind, I believe I found my answers. It turns out that my Amtel chip is a reprogrammable chip. So im going to have to guess and configure the chip then install it.

I also understand that I'll need a racelogic emulator if I want to tune the car while driving. Which is probably the next thing I will purchase.
