Question about what i would need...

Post by swatteamtimmah »

Hey, im new here and i was recommended to use to Hondata system by a friend since im boosting my car. I have a few questions on what i would need though. I have a 96 Civic Ex (D16Y8)...
  1. 1) First i need to get a chipped ECU right?
    :::::> so this would work? > http://www.wiredspeed.com//store/produc ... D2AP28&eq=
    2) I need the Hondata S200 Base System with Boost?
    :::::> so this is what i would need? > http://www.hondata.com/s200.html
    3) Is the ROM Editor V3 worth it?( from what i understand it allows me to download to Hondata rom's other people have use?, Or i can make my own?)
    4) Do i HAVE to convert to obd1 to run Hondata?
Really sorry if the questions are confusing i tried to research as much as i could to make the process easier.

You will have to convert to OBD1 to use a Hondata system. Romeditor is needed to tune your car yourself, or you can take it to one of our dealers and have them tune it on the dyno. You need one of the compatible OBD1 ecus form the list at http://www.hondata.com/ecus.html and then you can use a Hondata s100 or s200 system.

You'll need a conversion harness and a socketed OBD-1 ECU.
