ive been helping my friend set his vtec engagement and we seem to have run into a wall, it might be a simple problem but i am very frustrated and confused.

its a obd0 ecu with stage 3 hondata
b16a SiR1
built head with skunk2 stage II's
stock bottom end

i turn the key to on position

turn to off

turn to on and crank

push button once

cel light flashes twice

when i rev the car to set it it hits about 4k and stops as if it had a studder box and wont go any higher!?!?!?!

we need to set it at 6k to get rid of his vtec dip



that is the problem im having

any help would be appreciated, and if im doing something wrong.


the rpms are not 2x like the rev limiter is are they?

the vtec is set at 5k right now and the car runs fine, i just cant chance the vtec engagement to 6k

Is the light on the interface box flashing before you press any buttons withthe ignition in the on position?

the light flashes then stops, i can double check
