Can someone please make or guide me on how to make a basemap for a k20a2 with drag cartel 3.2 cams, supertech 92lb valvetrain, ported type s oil pump, and oem cam gears with vtc
im putting this engine in my ep3 and need a safe running basemap to bring it to the dyno. the closest dyno is at least 2 hours away and im not advanced at tuning could someone please help me?

I suggest you reach out to your tuner for a base calibration that can get you to the dyno. If that doesn't work load a stock calibration and make sure the o2 is turned on. Since there is no mention of upgraded injectors, the car should not run that rough.

Ok, would I have to worry about piston to valve clearance?

Did you ask Drag Cartel if that was needed when purchasing the cam? If Valve clearance is a concern you would need to look into pinning the VTC gear.

I didn’t ask DC, I just assumed it would need a tune because they’re not “drop in” cams.

Yes tuning will be needed. If valve clearance is a concern, then you would need to install something mechanical to prevent the VTC from turning too far and hitting a valve. DC may be able to tell you if valve clearance is a concern. Was valve clearance checked when building the engine?

I don’t know I’m getting it off marketplace lol, moneys tight and my ep3 threw a rod. The top end of the engine is built and brand new the bottom end is untouched. It has super tech valvetrain and the DC cams that’s all I know for the moment

Gotcha. I suggest you look through the K series forums to see if anyone else has ran the setup. Quickly looking at the DC website it doesn't mention the pinning of the VTC. Your best bet is to contact them.

Another source would be your tuner. I am sure they have seen various iterations of setups.
