Hondata app for vehicle just purchased with Flashpro

I am totally new to Hondata. Just learned about it today while purchasing a 2006 Civic Si that is already running a Flashpro in the car. The previous owner was showing how the app worked on his phone and told me I should download the app. After reading and learned how this Flashpro would be locked to the car. Can I pay for and install the app on my phone and it automatically work with my car? Or will I have to "register" it with my Flashpro? This car will be my son's when he comes home on leave from the Navy in a few months so I want to learn how it works and if multiple phones will work on this one car?

The app is for viewing live data and can be used on any phone that it has been purchased on. It pairs via Bluetooth.
