Dyno Tuned K20a with bolts-ons got new cams/12.5:1 what to change in tune for safe start up?

Post by Mlyno »

Hey

I got my jdm k20a type-r dyno tuned with bolt ons - rdx injectors, fuel pump, exhaust, intake, tuned with 50 vtc
Now i rebuild the engine and added a Toda A3 cams, 12.5:1 pistons, RRC manifold, VTC mechanicaly limited to 40,(injectors and pump didnt change).

What do i have to change for SAFE start up after i build this engine? + Drive around get aligment etc
Vtc is mechanically limited to 40degree, so it will not smash valves.

I gonna get proper dyno tune in the spring, just need the car to start and move around and drive for couple days before winter storage.

Talk to your tuner they should be able to help you with a calibration to start it up with.

Yea, thats why i posted here in calibrations subforum, as somebody might suggest something.

I dont want to pay 400$ for a temporary startup tune, if i do custom dyno tune soon anyway.

Just to move i think it would be safe with your current calibration if you drive slowly in non vtec and monitor any knock and afr is in a acceptable range
