pops and bang in sport mode DE5

Post by DomGSR-T »

Hi,

I would like to get milder pops/rumble in sport mode but so far I cannot get it to work... to start, I have copy all the values of sport+ into sport mode but I have no pops or rumble at all in sport mode... did I miss something?

2 questions:
1) Was the "Sport mode" checkbox checked when you flashed the ECU? If not, you will need to reflash it with this box checked, It cannot be toggled on and off "live"
2) Are you trying to apply the copied values from Sport+ into the Sport Table after the flash? Or were they already copied in there when you flashed it? If it's the former, then you're going to want to activate that Live option on the Sport table (make sure you get the green checkmark next to "Live").

If neither of these, then it's something else.

Settings were change before the reflash... just noticed that in the mods section the stock types S pops is not enabled anymore. Maybe by enabling the sport mode it gets uncheck?

hum just flash again tonight for timing testing and I can see that the yellow dot is still there... I never used the ''live'' features so I don't know how to fix this... I always flash with my laptop, then I shutdown the laptop and go for a log...

ok if you had everything set the way you showed in the attachments you posted when you flashed the calibration, then it doesn't have anything to do with my comments on live tuning.

to answer your other question, as soon as you change anything in the calibration that is related to a given mod such as (in your case), altering the Pops & Bangs ignition retard table for sport mode pops and bangs, or even simply enabling P&B in sport mode (since the mod originally defines it as unchecked), the checkbox for the mod itself will uncheck. That doesn't mean you've disabled pops and bangs. It just means you've changed something in the tables that the mod has defined so it will uncheck itself.

Bottom line, if you have copied everything from Sport+ table to the Sport table for pops and bangs, as you've shown, and that checkbox for "Sport" is checked, as you've also shown, then you should be getting the same Pops & Bangs response in both Sport and Sport+. That's how it should work, at least.

one thing you can try is to enable the Comfort mode checkbox, then copy the values from the Sport+ Pops & Bangs retard table into the Comfort Pops & Bangs retard table as well, and flash the ECU. This is something to try just in case the Sport and Comfort tables are somehow flipped around in the software as we saw with the throttle maps earlier.

oops I must have overlooked that, so it appears there could be a bug in FPM with the Sport Pops & Bangs table.

I think I have found the problem. Will post a release here for testing shortly.
