Vtec settings

Post by reallyflyguy »

Lets see if I can state this clearly.

I have Vtec set to lower 4850 and upper 4850

when I'm cruising and holding the rev 3k-4k I see and VTS turn on and feel the car hesitate from the air flow being all wrong.

I've had the setting for map set 4.311 across all rpm and I've moved them down to 0.850...I've even dropped lower to see what happens.

I can't stop vtec from kicking in.. on the flip side it activates exactly as should when I'm on throttle..

I feel like something is missing like a manual rpm setting... avoiding map settings

Thanks for helping.
I loaded 2 data logs.
The low speed is where Vtec is turning on unnecessarily.
The second to show it works normally.

When you upload to the ECU how long does it take to upload?

I've never timed it but I would guess 2 to 3 minutes.

I can time it if you need

You probably need to set the VTEC at a higher RPM for lighter throttle conditions instead of having just one RPM point for
VTEC to engage no matter what the load.

Ok
I've set all my lower RPM map values to 0.950 to 0.900
Vtec lower 4400 and upper 5000

road tested again and vtec still pops on at 3800 under light throttle

If you set the rev limit to something low like 2000 RPM, does it rev limit at that RPM?

If you return to stock from the online menu, what does the VTEC do?

I flashed back to stock and YES the problem is still present. I'm stumped. This is so simple. The ecu shouldn't engage the VTS like this

I don't think this is the ECU causing this as it is still doing it when returned to stock and no one else is having this issue. IS anything else wired into this vehilce?

I have a AEM wide band installed on the ELD circuit. I'm going to unplug it to see if it acts differently. Possibly it's back feeding into the ECU?
