I’m working on a K-Swap project using a K24A2 engine installed in a 1990 Mazda Miata. I’m using a KPro V4 based on a PPA-A52 (TSX) ECU, with the following setup:
⸻
🧰 Setup:
• Engine: K24A2 (stock sensors)
• ECU: Hondata KPro V4 (PPA-A52)
• Chassis: 1990 Mazda Miata NA
• Conversion harness: KPower Miata NA to RSX C101 adapter
• Engine harness: 2005 RSX Type-S
• Fuel: 91 octane
• MAP sensor: Stock
• Injectors: Stock
• ECU limit: 7000 RPM (Hondata default)
⸻
❗ Issues:
1. RPM does not register in KManager, even during cranking.
2. One ignition coil overheats when ignition is on.
3. There are two unused wires (blue and gray) coming from the KPower conversion harness. These go to relays, but don’t align with the RSX C101 connector.
4. I’m unsure whether CKP, CMP A, and CMP B are wired correctly to the ECU.
5. I’m using the PPA-A52 ECU instead of a PRB, so pinout differences may be affecting signal routing.
⸻
🔍 Request:
Could you please confirm:
• The correct pins for CKP +/−, CMP A, and CMP B on the PPA-A52 ECU?
• Whether CMP B is required for proper RPM signal?
• Any insight into possible causes of coil overheating when there is no CKP signal?
Thank you for your help!
