New user old instalation

Hello,
I bought an s2000 with hondata installed. Last user was able to race and use his phone to get readings from the sensors as he was racing.
I would like to do the same. I do not want to change the tuning at this time.
So far I have downloaded the flashpro software on windows laptop and hondata app on ios phone.
I have ticked the box within flashpromanager to allow bluetooth “connection to radio”.
Then i got in the car and had the flashpro connected to laptop and odb and my mobile phone briefly connected to the flashpro and the hondata app was giving me the readings. However within 30s the flashpro disappeared from my phone bluetooth connections.
I unplugged everything and plugged in again and it worked one more time. However only lasted 30s or so and then disconnected again as I drove. And now my phone refuses to see the flashpro as an option in bluetooth.
I have seen people say that you can connect via the mobile app but i see no place for that in the app.
I actually thought I could connect to the sensors directly without the flashpro but guessing that I need the flashpro connected to the odb port while racing in order to get the readings?
Can someone confirm i need the flashpro connected while i race and also suggest some way to get a connection to my phone that is reliable. Actually now i cannot get a connection at all even with ignition in and flashpro in the odb port or even when connected to laptop as well.
Thanks for support. I am doing time attack and want to find solutions to keep intake temps down on my supercharged s2000.
Thanks. J
