Brand new! My ECU says Hondata on it and I have the app installed on my phone

My ECU says Hondata on it, and I have the app installed on my phone, but when I plug it in via the USB, I get nothing. Yes, the car is started or in the on position. The car is a 1995 EG with a K24a swap... Am I missing a step? I run Haltech in the rest of my cars and am compleatly new to Hondata
