S300 on a P28 currently running chrome

Ive looked and I cant seem to find a solid answer to this. My question is can i desolder the chrome chipped P28 and install S300 in its place or do i need to get a new stock ecu and start from scratch? Thanks in advance!

It can be used, but you must swap form the old socket to male pins.
