Clarification between Binaries and IDs ** Help/Feature/Bug **
Posted: Tue Apr 01, 2025 8:37 am
Good morning,
I need some clarification and assistance identifying which binary belongs to which "ID".
Perhaps this is a feature request & bug fix all in one. (bug in the end)
So, in FlashPro Manager if i click CHANGE there's a list a IDs in the first column. Which binary do each of those IDs correlate to?
None of the digits in the ECU sticker match those IDs. (424,437,441,442 etc)
Please provide a list of what binaries match the ECU "IDs" list in FlashPro manager. (Maybe add the value in the dropdown list columns)
Issue:
Customer location: South Africa
Car model: 2024 FL5
Flashpro Mini: FP-CTR-INT-3##### (redacted)
ECU Model: 38720-66V-K13 (validated with customer provided image)
Support for above ECU added: v4.3.8 (16 Dec 2024)
When a new FL5 calibration is built "international" or " South Africa" isn't clearly defined in the dropdown options. It obviously has other markets labeled. Previous generation (FK8) ECU IDs were A-americas, E-Euro, J-Japan, M-Mexico, N-South Africa, Q-Australia etc.
Seems for FL5 in South Africa they have K##.
It is important for us to correlate the ECU under the hood to the right binary and the IDs listen under the change button. The list shown doesnt give us this info.
For ECUs beginning with "K", there's only K02 and K12 on the list for FL5 and they are labeled Central America.
Attached is a picture of when we tried K02 and failed to upload with error, then when we switched to K12, it started, but car was in limp mode and unable to build boost.
BUG (or not?)
If you click CHANGE vehicle and select another binary, the update takes place and the vehicle label changes accordingly.
If you SAVE, close the calibration and re-open it, the field defaults to another vehicle, such as FL5 Japan regardless of the vehicle chosen 5s earlier was central america for example.
If we had binary values in the list, this wouldnt matter as we would know the right binary matched the car's ECU.
THANK YOU for all your hard work and assistance.
