VSS input

Post by tom_h02 »

Hello, New member here.
I'm doing a K24A swap into a non-Honda chassis. Transmission has no VSS sensor (old classis car).
I will be using a 55505 Hall Effect sensor. I'm using a PND ECU from a base 02 RSX auto. I'm aware that the VSS signal goes to directly to the Kpro board instead of pin A18.
From other threads I learned that the new VSS signal has to be a sinking output with a pull-up resistor. The 55505 hall effect sensor seems to have these characteristics. Can someone confirm that I can use this sensor for the VSS input? The spec sheet even says that the sensor has an internal pull-up resistor. See pics attached.

Which of these circuits is correct for the VSS input?

Probably best to power the sensor with 5V and then you don't need the additional transistor.

Sounds good. So, basically the signal goes directly from the sensor output (internal pull-up resistor) to the Kpro VSS input.

Should work as the sensor shows an internal pull up resistor.
