Version 4.4.2 Ignition timing issues

Post by chrisrkooz »

I suspect I may have accidentally posted this before I fully typed out my message, please excuse any duplicate posts.

Hello, I've posted a few times on here. I am encountering an issue tuning my '11 CR-Z (CVT).
2011 (Stock engine)
K&N typhoon intake
Sprintex Supercharger with IAT relocation, 0.026" gap IZFR6K-13 spark plugs
270cc injectors (accord v6)

Perhaps I am not understanding the ignition timing calculations correctly, but it does not appear that the knock ignition limit table is having an effect on the ignition calculation. As far as I understand, we have the following:

MBT ignition advance: Ignition timing for maximum power
Knock Ignition Limit: Relative to MBT, positive indicates knock occurs advanced from MBT, negative indicates knock occurs retarded from MBT.
Maximum Ignition timing: Determined from comparing the MBT and knock ignition timing, and selecting the lower of the two. Does not display as retard.
K.Control: Starts at 100%, goes down if no pinging / knock is determined, can go above 100% as I've learned.
Knock retard: if pinging / knock is detected, knock retard will be calculated by applying K.control to the knock retard table value and applying that retard to the ignition timing calculation.

I've tried disabling knock retard, desensitizing the knock sensor, setting the knock ignition limit table to all 0's, disabling ignition gear compensation (set all to 0). It genuinely seems to have no effect. Also, the Ign.limit (°) display in the flashpro manager always displays 0 for its value no matter which of my tunes I seem to upload. I've made a lot over the last few months of learning how to tune. But I am at a loss.

The car wont. listen. to. me.

Thankfully I have a really really old version of my tune that doesn't knock, though it also doesn't follow any of the ignition tables. It just happens to work.
