Kpro losing connection, killing the car?

Post by Kerwfin »

Car was running great after replacing some rocker assembly locking pins, test drove it for about 45 mins. At which i would intermittently get a CEL flash, rpm drop and car would stumble, then drive fine. Once I got home, the car shut off. After cranking it back up, it would idle, cel flash and die. This cel flash then die xan be prompted by a quick throttle press usually and stalls the car.

I did notice at one point, when the car would no longer startup at all, while kpro was open, I changed the o2 sensor to disabled and open loop and it finally started back up as soon as I uploaded that configuration. However there are no actual CEL codes being logged and what it looks like is happening is that my ecu is powering on and off. Car is a 90 crx, k20a2, kpro v4. Ktuned conversion harness. Car has run nearly perfect for about a year. This problem is after putting the head back together. Ground strap on head at valve cover and another is daisy chained on the back of the valve cover, to timing cover, to strut tower. Any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like there may be a loose or damaged wire somewhere near where you were working. You will have to check all the wires.
