Issue with dyno tune map and having rich A/F ratio

Post by Francisco G *999 »

I have a 07 Si k20z3. AEM fuel pump new, RDX injectors new, so i got dyno tuned and everything was OK for a while having a strong a/f 14.7 but recently I gave de fuel pump modula unit some cleaning and left it like brand brand new no issues with that at all just had it looking new and right cleaning the hoses and adjusting to perfection. After that I noticed the car was getting more gas to the engine because it felt faster, I thought that was cool. But a problem happens when I would get in high RPM’s at 8k I noticed a bogg and it never did that before with the dyno tune. I gave me a cylinder 1 misfire check engine light tuned one at 8k rpms So I thought the cylinder was getting flooded because it was getting to much gas from the pressure of the newly cleaned out pump modula and wires and everything. (I did not check my hondata app for a while so I didn’t know what a/f ratio I was getting till later) So I gave it a tune up changed the coils as well as the injects to other different cylinders. After the tune un the misfire was gone but had not looked at my hondata App since I cleaned the fuel pump modula, wires connectors and hoses. So after I noticed stuttering and bogging instead of advancing would die out. I did see my A/F was at 10.1. Had drove it like that like 2-3 DAYS’’ and could not any longer tunner sent me a new map because could not get off 10.1 and there was an adjustment right away with the new adjusted map but after I tested the car out from having the correct 14.7 I gave it gas trying to redline and at 6k it cut off bogging and jerking (not advancing) till it died out. (I think what happened there it got a rich condition and could not advance anymore because of how much fuel was coming in and the tune was not exact. Turned it back on after dying on me and had before 14.7 but now it was showing i had a A/F of 10.1 again and it would not adjust at all barely made it come with the car bogging at 10.1. Tried putting back the stock base map, K&N v2 base map to see if that would solve the problem but was the same issue (pretty much) I checked the new pluggs I had added because I gave it a tune up 2 days ago and the plugs were blacked out filled of carbon. So I can’t figure it out. (All this started happening after I cleaned the fuel pump modula) and there’s nothing wrong with that only having the miss-adjustment of my dyno map I can think of for the reason of getting too much gas and more flow in but wouldn’t taking the tune off solve the problem??? Anyways I finally took off the new spark plugs I added and they were all blacked out. Possibly from those 3 days driving to work with A/F ratio of 10.1 and not noticing so i cleaned them and put them back turned on the car only with the base map and had 14.7 at idle but when I took off I got stranded the car shut off when I had the foot off the gas and had gone lean completely. Could not turn it back on and After making it home I checked and was showing 10.1 again after I DID clean the new spark plugs that were black I was able to get 14.7 at idle. So my question is do you think the problem has to do with the new oxígeno sensor I have because now it’s dirty and filled with carbon??? That it’s not reading correct air and fuel in to the engine??? I have datalogs, picture, videos to share??. Also showed that the trim was -31 and I had Map reading of 3psi! But I don’t even have turbo. Can anyone please help here? I really am at a loss? Please

Post the calibration you are running and a datalog. It is possible your map sensor is going out.

My map and maf are brand new as well as the oxygen sensor all from the Honda dealer and I do all the tune ups to my car so no one was messed with the new OEM parts. Today I changed the oxygen sensor and was able to see 14.6 A/F ration parked but the car turned of. Would not turn back on and I made it turn back on with pressing the peddle. I took it for a drive and was showing 14.6 but the car would dye out when coming to a stop and having it in N like when the RPMs were high and would drop down and they would not hold at 1,000 and the car would turn off. It turned off multiple times. But also it actually would hold at 1,000 a lot of the times. At the moment I have the base map K&N V2 the tuner has a lock on the dyno tune. I did make 2 datalogs today and also videos when it turned off. I’m going to change the spark plugs to new ones because maybe these are messed up for running rich for so long and they were brand new. And I did clean them off. After I took it out for a spin it looked to be at 14.6 and I kept driving even if it turned off. After it turns off multiple times and got it to stay on again I kept driving with 14.6 but I stated to give it red like and after that the A/F ratio changed to 10.1 and would not change back. You can see it on the 2nd datalog.

Post the calibration file you ran when you created the logs.
