K-pro v4 no start

So I ran my k-swap civic on an 05-06 ecu for a little while. I didn't know that was not the correct ecu so I bought the correct k-pro. I set the 05-06 ecu on a shelf for about a month. I sold it last weekend to a guy with a 05-06 rsx and he says it won't start his car and his tuner can't get it to start either.

car cranks and fuel pump comes on

Can the ecu go bad after a month on the shelf? It's a v4 and I didn't have a problem with it. I don't know how it was handled or any of that obviously once it was out of my possession.

Can anyone give me some insight?

Does anything need to be done to get it to work? This sucks because I don't have the car in front of me. I've also NEVER had an ecu fail, even if that sat for longer.

I told him I'd give him half his money back, which to me seems way more than fair.

Is the immobilizer enabled?

What vehicle are they using it on?

Are they using the adapter harness?

I suspect it has something to do with the harness being used.

How can he go about getting a harness, site says they don't sell them separately.

Well after all this time of no communication I was told they "sent it to hondata and they fixed it for free". Seems like a lie to me but nice to not have to deal with it anymore.
