S300
Got a 98 Civic DX with a LS VTEC B20B from 4 piston and a GSR head and type r intake and cams. Just got back into Hondas after 21 years, so my question has been searched by me with no exact answer. Has the famous code 21 idle kind of fluctuate like it’s starting to have a bad idle control valve. I assume it’s a P28 ecu but haven’t taken it out. Purchased a new VTEC spool valve and solenoid from Honda. Waiting for my OEM connector to come in so I can repin it. Harness doesn’t look clean as I would have had it back in my dealership days. Do these ecu go bad often? Going to check continuity on A4 pin at the ecu to the VTEC solenoid. I don’t feel VTEC like I use to in my old civics. Previous owner said he felt it. Gave me the cord for his Hondata don’t have the software to look into it. Kind of stumped

Re: S300
The blue butt connector is the VTEC and the pin was half out. Pushed it back in, just waiting for my new VTEC solenoid connector to come in so I can repin the harness side. In the future getting a mil spec rywire harness. So hopefully this was the problem. Fingers crossed.
