Vtec not disengaging low load/ wideband lambda.

Post by 08FitSport »

I upgraded the camshaft to a delta 272 regrind. Crusing at 75-90 mph the engine stays in vtec low load. What can I control with adding wideband to the ecu? Can I change the Target lambda at cruising and idle to leaner then 14.7?

I changed the vtec window to:

lower 3800 upper 4500

vtec window pressure
rpm 3700 4000 4200 4800 5200
.886 .572 .403 .403 .222

Adding a wideband oxygen sensor to your ECU will help you monitor the AFR more accurately and make better tuning decisions.
I am a tuner I understand that. But seems like the ecu in the fit will not allow you to run a leaner mixture then stoich in closed loop with the factory primary o2. My question was will adding a wideband for closed loop operation allow you to run leaner mixtures then stoich.

The last reply was from a spam bot.

There's a lot of logic in the ECU which is fixed to target stoichiometric.

Even with wideband lambda? Why is my car staying in vtec at cruising speeds? 70-80 mph?

Without the calibration and datalog showing the issue, it is hard to speculate.

I’ll post up very soon. Have to data log it as I think I maxed out the factory injectors

Here is the calibration and datalog. Vtec engages at its set point then stays engaged at cruising speeds. turns on and never turns off.

Let's pick a point in the middle of the datalog. 4000 rpm MAP 66 kPa.

The VTEC table has 57 kPa (0.572 bar) at 4000. So VTS will be on.

I figured it had something to do with vtec pressure window. Thanks for the help. I will raise the map pressure so it stays off when crusing.
