will this kal suffice until i get a proper dyno tune? 8th gen k24a2 swap

Post by tuannguyen22 »

hi,

i swapped an 04 tsx rbb2 engine into my 8th gen canadian csx, grabbed an si ecu, and flashpro, etc etc, i grabbled the original calibration from the forums (sir_dartillians vtec4500) and for the most part works great, up until vtec, where it richens to 10:1 which i can imagine be contributed to the fact that i am running the stock k24a2 rbb manifold, so i pulled some fueling in the 10,15,20 and 25 degree cam angle maps from 4500-7200 rpm and seems to run decent, apart from it is there anything else that can be improved? i also installed an rbc 50 degree vtc, could anyone modify the calibration for me to account for that?

side note its my daily driver, so i do enjoy a more relaxed throttle response, and if i can make more torque down low to make stop light to stop lights feel more fun, and the occasional highway on ramps exciting that would be great

mods

k24a2 rbb2
rbb i/m
50 degree vtc
3 inch sri
stock header
stock cat
stock injectors

The calibration needs some minor fuel adjustments as it's running a bit lean. There are also a few counts of knock in vtec. The o2 will keep the fuel in line so you should be good to NORMAL drive the car. You should not drive the car too hard. Making the car run on the 50VTC is not as straight forward. You would have to retune all of the ignition and fuel table as well as make changes to the VTC tables. That can be taken care of when you get a proper tune.

thanks for clearing that up, i will head out to do more logging, adjust the fuel tables, and for the knocks can i turn back the ignitions in those specific cells 1 point at a time or do a bigger number like 5?

I tend to reduce by 2 degrees at a time. Unless the knock is severe.
