Is this salvagable? Burnt components

Post by philthy »

Had issues connecting to my ECU with my laptop so opened it up and found some burnt components J250 and J251.

ECU is Kpro3 in a Lotus Elise K20A2 conversion

Seems there has been some water ingress a while back

Doing some research as my knowledge of KPro is limited I can see this is a mod done to convert the standard ECU so probably not damage just a poor install?

J251 does seem to be blown but not sure this is required?

My original issue was laptop not recognising the KPro and driver issues, tried all the FAQ suggestions so thought I’d open it up and see.

The green light on the USB stays illuminated but the red lights flashes 3 times then stays out.

Back from CPL racing who bench tested the ECU. Turns out it was fine, the KPro board however was toast.

New one fitted.
