Hondata

So I recently purchased a Hondata S300 ECU and am planning on installing it into my 1997 Honda Prelude Type SH for the tunability and the ability to make the most of my mods which I've done so far. Anyways I am also installing three wideband AEM gauges into my car as well, an X-Series Air/Fuel gauge, as well as X-Series Oil Pressure and Water Temp sensors. I am somewhat aware of the process needed to install the AFR gauge in regards to which wires to splice off of in order to get the proper power and resistance going to the ecu so it can read the information the gauge is gathering as well. I am just stumped on how I'd add the other two gauges as well, the AEM instructions all say the sensor input and ground wires would go to the Hondata ECU. From my understanding all the gauges' sensor wires would be going to the same 2 sensor power and ground? Also what are the digital and analog connectors for if they're not for the gauges in that case? Because I have them and was under the impression that they were for adding sensors or gauges depending on if they were analog or digital but I read in other forums not to use them for gauges as they'd either not work properly or would show the wrong information compared to what the sensor would actually be reading.

You would have to use the analog inputs for the other 2 sensors and will have to enter them as custom unless one of the presets matches the sensor you have.

So I would have the sensor inputs go to 2 of the analog wires and ground them to the analog ground wires for the Hondata? With the exception of the AFR gauge having to need to be grounded at the ECU ground so it doesn't ground out the ECU and potentially damage things? I've heard to ground the sensor grounds all to the ECU ground on the thermostat housing to avoid damaging the ECU, would that be the recommended route? I've also seen on HA Motorsports to wire the GAUGE power to the ECU's A25 pin, would that be fine for all 3 gauges and possibly any more I add in the future?

Also would ALL 3 SIGNAL wires go to the analog 0-5v signal power wires on the analog connector? Or would the AFR gauge have to splice to the D14 pin so the O2 sensor heater doesn't potentially mess anything up?

Sorry for all the questions I'm just trying to make sure I do this right the first time.

Are you wanting to run closed loop from the wideband?

Yes I'm looking for all my gauges to be closed loop to communicate with the hondata for data logging and overall accuracy

For the wideband to read correctly and be able to be used for closed loop you must use the D10 input as the D14 input cannot see the full voltage range.

The other sensors will have to be input into the analog inputs on the s300 itself.

Would it be best to ground the sensor grounds to the ECU ground on the thermostat housing in order to prevent ECU damage

Okay so as I'm writing this down I'm having trouble figuring out just a couple of the wires I have left that I'd have to wire up, I just want to verify this makes sense before I end up blowing something.

Air/Fuel Ratio: The GAUGE power would go to the A25 pin(?), the GAUGE ground would go to the ECU ground on the thermostat housing, the Sensor Input wire would go to the D10 pin, and the SIGNAL ground would also go to the ECU ground.

Oil Pressure: I'm not sure where to wire up the Gauge power on this gauge, I believe the Gauge ground goes to to the ECU ground as well, while the Sensor input would go to an analog wire on the analog connector on the Hondata, with the Signal Ground going to one of the two analog ground wires at the ECU's analog connector.

Water Temp: Also not exactly sure where to wire up the Gauge power on this gauge either, I think they'd both be fine going to the A25 pin as well but would need some further advice on that, anyways the Gauge ground would also go to the ECU ground, Sensor input at another wire on the analog connector and the same Sensor ground going to the other or the same dedicated analog ground on the Hondata's Analog connector.

Just want to make sure my math checks out on what I figured out so far, sorry for asking the same questions over and over again

For power I would recommend that you use a switched power source in the fuse box under the dash as there are empty slots you can connnect a spade connector to that are switched with the ignition.

Try it without the analog signal ground and see if it reads correctly.
